Please join us at CocoaTown for an exceptionally unique and intimate Rum and Chocolate Tasting guided by Guest Expert, Darin Sukha, PhD.

Excite your senses of taste and smell while having fun with your friends. Dr. Darin will create pairings with bean to bar crafted dark chocolates and very special two rums. Taste unique dark chocolate flavors made from cocoa beans from around the world paired with exquisite rums from The House of Angostura located in Trinidad.

The Chocolates

We will serve bean to bar dark chocolates with a spectrum of flavors that exists in some of the finest cocoas from Trinidad and Tobago and other origins.

The Rums

Two special rums from the House of Angostura including an Angostura Single Barrel Reserve and an Angostura 1919 will be exquisitely paired with selected chocolates.

Dr. Darin Sukha is a Research Fellow at the Cocoa Research Centre, The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine. Dr. Sukha leads the Food Technology Section that works in four thematic areas:

  • Research
  • Training and outreach
  • Quality management
  • Product development

He has also worked as flavor development specialist for Mars Chocolates.

A guided tasting of two special rums from the House of Angostura (Trinidad) 1. Angostura Single Barrel Reserve and 2. Angostura 1919.

The pairing
Bringing the two together for an exhilarating experience unlike any other. Pairing of some the chocolates with these two rums to create a unique sensory experience.
